“Brainwashed . . . Brainwashed . . . You’re brainwashed . . .” The voice shouted in Gavin’s mind as he ran down the bright, sterile corridor, unsure where he was going, only knowing that he had to get away or the bad people would get him. “You’re brainwashed . . .” Up and down the branching hallways, the sharp smell of antiseptic clogging his nostrils, his heart ramming against his ribs.
